<t>As Network Management Agents (NMAs) increasingly collaborate in scenarios such as fault diagnosis, network optimization, and service assurance, consistent task descriptions and evidence information are needed across vendors and management domains. This document defines a Task and Evidence Information Model for AI-Enabled Network Operations (AINETOps). The model consists of Task Core, Evidence Core, and a Profile extension mechanism for different task and evidence types. This document does not specify communication protocols, request or response formats, task execution methods, or network configuration operations.</t>

<section anchor="introduction">
      <name>Introduction</name>
      <t>Network operational tasks may be handled collaboratively by multiple Network Management Agents (NMAs). For example, one agent may collect network state information while another proposes path optimization. Because different systems may represent task objectives, network objects, and related evidence differently, semantic inconsistencies can arise in cross-vendor or cross-domain collaboration.</t>
      <t>To address this issue, this document defines two related information models. The Task Information Model describes the objectives, scope, expected outcomes, and execution constraints of network operational tasks. The Evidence Information Model describes task-related evidence, including its source, time, and type. The two models are logically associated through task identifiers.</t>
      <t>To support different network operational scenarios, both models distinguish a common part (Core) from extensions for particular domains (Profiles). This document specifies common information elements and Profile extension rules; specific message encodings and transport protocols are outside its scope. The JSON representations in this document are illustrative only.</t>

              <t> This document explores the role of the IETF and IRTF in advancing
   Artificial Intelligence for network operations (AINetOps), focusing
   on requirements for IETF protocols and architectures. AINetOps
   applies AI/ML techniques to automate and optimize network operations,
   enabling use cases such as reactive troubleshooting, proactive
   assurance, closed-loop optimization, misconfiguration detection, and
   virtual operator assistance.

   The document addresses AINetOps for both single-layer IP or Optical
   networks and multi-layer IP/Optical networks. It defines the concept
   of AINetOps for networking and provides its operational benefits such
   as network assurance, predictive analytics, network optimization,
   multi-layer planning, and more. It aims to guide the evolution of
   IETF protocols to support AINetOps-driven network management.

            <abstract>
              <t> AI-driven Network Management Agents (NMAs) are being deployed to
   automate operational workflows such as cross-domain fault diagnosis
   and service remediation. While the IETF has standardized service
   data models and access protocols through the Controller NBI (RFC
   8969), these provide atomic configuration and monitoring
   capabilities, not the semantics for delegating end-to-end operational
   tasks to an autonomous agent. As a result, NMA northbound interfaces
   are vendor-specific overlays. This document defines the problem
   statement for the Northbound Task Interface (NTI): the interface
   through which an operator or OSS delegates operational tasks to an
   NMA.
